Before you can make a post to our Guestbook or Message Board, you must read and agree to the following rules and regulations that govern your use of the varied public participation sections of our web site:

Your use of our Guestbook is restricted to one-time posts, essentially saying "I was here, and here's how I feel about the 710 extension situation", but in your own words, of course. While we do not discourage legitimate criticism made on a mature level, note that discussion and/or responses to other entries really belongs on our Message Board and not in our Guestbook.

Our Message Board is designed solely for the exchange of information and for orderly, adult debate on the hotbed 710 extension issue. We realize that individuals and groups on both sides of the issue are firmly polarized, and that this is a highly charged and emotional issue, but regardless, you are required to exercise appropriate restraint in your opposition to other persons' viewpoints and opinions, which are just as valid as yours. A liberal dose of common courtesy and mutual respect can go a long way towards helping others understand you and your feelings on the issues.

While we encourage legitimate criticism and debate on a mature level:

• Off-topic posts are prohibited. These include posts made by "bloggers" seeking search engine hit rate increases and other ultimately futile ego-building exercises.
• Deliberately derogatory and/or inflammatory statements designed solely to incite more of the same are not allowed. Thus, name calling, taunting, defamation, slander and other immature behavior will not be tolerated.
• Posts made by pro-710 forces designed to flood our board with their propaganda and drown out any meaningful dialog and/or opposition are prohibited.
• All inappropriate and/or off-topic posts, or posts that otherwise violate our rules, will be deleted without prior warning. The first offense will bring a deletion of the offending post(s), which will serve as notice of violation of our rules. Repeated infractions will bring enforcement of a temporary or permanent ban on the IP (or IP range) in use by those who cannot abide by our rules and, if required, can lead to further action.
• These rules and regulations may be changed at any time without prior warning, at our sole discretion.

In short, we own this web site and whatever we say goes at all times, though of course we are fair-minded and will not censor anyone merely for disagreeing with others' viewpoints. But if you find that you simply cannot abide by our rules, you are of course free to seek other avenues of self-expression located elsewhere on the Internet.
